How much is a trillion?

According to USASpending.gov, $3 trillion dollars (that’s $3,000,000,000,000.00) has been made available by the government to spend on COVID-19. As of the writing of this post, the US National Debt is $28.1 trillion and going up every second. When you get to the point of discussing trillions, it all feels like monopoly money, but this has real implications on future generations. Some believe that governmental spending in the last year adds up to $8 trillion dollars in additional debt. Will we ever be able to dig ourselves out of this hole?
