***HUDSON RESIDENT ALERT***
Hudson’s leaders must listen to voters. In May, voters rejected public-private re-development called Downtown Phase II. While the vote was non-binding, council should make no mistake that the will of the people was spoken. Why even hold the vote, if not to comply with the results?

We’ve seen this before. Last fall, council was moving towards an unpopular and costly public broadband utility. To this day there are rumblings that some on council and in the administration want to bring that idea back up despite clear public sentiment against it.
We thank the members of council who stand up against such maneuvers. And we remind those who consider it that there are remedies for those who forget that they represent the people. Elections are coming, and a recall effort has already been explored. That’s a big decision for the residents of Hudson, but it’s one that many will consider appropriate if council continues supporting unpopular projects against the will of the people.
